Why doesn’t a swap appear on every product?
Our AI can only suggest alternatives when it finds a product that scores at least 10 points higher on combined health and sustainability metrics. Some niche items simply have no better option—yet.
Does using CleanLabel Cart make my purchase cost more?
No. We sometimes earn a small Amazon commission (at no extra cost to you) when you choose a swap, but CleanLabel Cart never inflates prices or hides cheaper alternatives.
How are the health & sustainability scores calculated?
Scores combine ingredient transparency, nutrition density, additive load, packaging impact, and third-party eco-certifications. We pull data from Amazon’s Product Advertising API and supplement it with open databases.
What data do you collect from users?
Only the active product URL, the anonymous click event when you select a swap, and your toggle preferences. No names, emails, or shopping carts. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
What do the “Clean ingredients” and “Low-impact packaging” toggles do?
When Clean ingredients is on, we down-rank products with artificial colors, preservatives, or ultraprocessed additives. When Low-impact packaging is on, we favor items using recyclable, compostable, or minimal packaging. Turn one or both toggles on to customize your swap results.
Will you support other retailers besides Amazon?
Yes. Target and Walmart are on our roadmap for Q4 2025. Sign up to the newsletter at the bottom of this page to get notified when new retailers go live.
Is there a paid “Pro” version?
We’re working on a Pro tier that adds deeper nutrient breakdowns and carbon-footprint estimates for power users. Early adopters will get a lifetime discount.
Do affiliate commissions bias your recommendations?
No. Every swap must score at least 10 points higher than the original product before it appears, even if that means we earn no commission on a specific item.
Why didn’t I get the confirmation email?
• Check your spam or promotions folder—some mail providers filter first-time messages.
• Whitelist hello@cleanlabelcart.com or move the email to your inbox to train the filter.
• Still no luck after 10 minutes? Resubmit the form or email us directly and we’ll add you manually.
